Silos or strongholds?

Not all fragmentation is the same. Silos are teams isolated by structure or specialization, usually unintentional. Strongholds are teams actively defending turf and competing with each other, a more hostile pattern that calls for a different response. This tells you which one you’re dealing with. About two minutes; nothing is stored.

First, bring one real example to mind

Before you start, picture a specific place where your teams pull apart: two departments, a head office and the field, a moment a hand-off went wrong. Not a general sense, but something concrete. You don’t need to write it down; just hold it in mind. Every question below is about that divide, which makes them far easier to answer honestly.
